CALIFORNIA WILDFIRES… The death toll for the Camp Fire in Northern California rose to at least 42 people yesterday to become the deadliest blaze in state history. Crews continue to search for additional bodies as hundreds of people remain unaccounted for. Meanwhile, firefighters in Southern California reported gaining ground on a blaze that has charred more than 143 square miles and destroyed at least 370 structures in and around Malibu. The blaze is blamed for two deaths..

JEROME CORSI AWAITS INDICTMENT… Conspiracy theorist and Roger Stone associate Jerome Corsi said yesterday that he has been served a subpoena and expects to be indicted in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Corsi has appealed to his followers for contributions to his legal defense fund. Corsi recently testified before a federal grand jury in Mueller’s probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

KHASHOGGI KILLING… The New York Times reported yesterday that a person on the team that allegedly killed Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi last month reported to an aide of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman once the “the deed was done.” U.S.intelligence officials believe there was reference to bin Salman in the call. Saudi officials deny the crown prince “had any knowledge whatsoever” of Khashoggi’s killing.

SINEMA WINS ARIZONA SENATE RACE… Democrat Kyrsten Sinema has been declared the winner of Arizona’s open U.S. Senate seat. She defeated Republican Congresswoman Martha McSally in a campaign to replace GOP Senator Jeff Flake. The three-term congresswoman becomes Arizona’s first Democratic U.S. senator since 1994.

3 SHOT IN ALBUQUERQUE… Albuquerque police are searching for the suspect in the shooting of three men at a business. Officers responding to reports of an active shooter found three people with gunshot wounds. A SWAT team was sent to the scene and led the search for the shooter.

ENTERTAINMENT
STAN LEE DIES… Legendary comic-book creator, writer, personality, actor and producer Stan Lee died yesterday morning. He was 95. Lee founded Marvel Comics and is credited with creating most of the superheroes the company is known for.

SETTLEMENT OVER ‘THE REST OF OUR LIFE‘… Ed Sheeran, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have reportedly reached a settlement with an Australian musical duo who filed a copyright infringement lawsuit in January. Sean Carey and Beau Golden claimed the McGraw-Hill song “The Rest of Our Life,” which was co-written by Sheeran, was a blatant copy of their 2014 song, “When I Found You.” An attorney for the duo has filed a letter with the court indicating the parties have agreed to settle.

MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL
N.Y. Giants 27 – SAN FRANCISCO 24… Eli Manning connected with Sterling Shepard on a go-ahead 3-yard touchdown pass with 53 seconds remaining to rally the Giants past the 49ers. Manning also hit Odell Beckham with a pair of scoring strikes.

NBA SCORES
WASHINGTON 117 – Orlando 109… John Wall had 25 points and 10 assists, Bradley Beal added 21 points and the Wizards downed the Magic to record back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

New Orleans 126 – TORONTO 110… E’Twaun Moore pumped in a game-high 30 points in leading the Pelicans past the Raptors.e Giants past the 49ers. Manning also threw a pair of scoring strikes to Odell Beckham.
Jrue Holiday had 28 points and 14 assists. Anthony Davis powered his way to 25 points and 20 rebounds.

Philadelphia 124 – MIAMI 114… Joel Embiid scored 35 points and brought down 18 boards in leading the 76ers past the Heat. J.J. Redick tossed in 25 points.

Utah 96 – MEMPHIS 88… The Jazz used a late 14-5 run to put away the Grizzlies. Joe Ingles scored 19 points to lead a balanced scoring attack. Rudy Gobert had 15 points and 16 rebounds.

MINNESOTA 120 – Brooklyn 113… The Timberwolves handled the Nets to snap their five-game skid. Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 25 points and 21 boards. Jeff Teague had 24 points and 11 assists. Derrick Rose tossed in 23 points.

Dallas 103 – CHICAGO 98… The Mavericks got 23 points from Harrison Barnes in downing the Bulls. The victory was Dallas’ third in four games.

OKLAHOMA CITY 118 – Phoenix 101… Paul George made six 3-pointers and finished with 32 points in leading the Thunder past the Suns.

SACRAMENTO 104 – San Antonio 99… The Kings held on to down the Spurs for the first time in 15 tries. Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 22 points off the bench. Willie Cauley-Stein had 13 points and as many rebounds.

L.A. CLIPPERS 121 – Golden State 116 (OT)… Lou Williams scored 25 points and fellow reserve Montrezl Harrell added 23 points as the Clippers outlasted the Warriors. Four other players scored in double figures for L.A.

NHL SCORES
N.Y. RANGERS 2 – Vancouver 1… Brett Howden scored a tie-breaking goal midway through the third period and the Rangers made it stand in edging the Canucks. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 25 shots at goal.

CAROLINA 3 – Chicago 2 (OT)… Sebastian Aho found the net 1:16 into overtime to lift the Hurricanes over the Blackhawks. Aho also had an assist. Goalie Scott Darling made 33 saves.

Columbus 2 – DALLAS 1… Pierre-Luc Dubois netted the decisive goal in the third period as the Blue Jackets clipped the Stars. Cam Atkinson had a goal and an assist.

ANAHEIM 2 – Nashville 1 (SO)… Pontus Aberg and Rickard Rakell scored in the shootout to send the Ducks past the Predators. Ryan Getzlaf netted a second-period goal.
