TRUMP TALKS TRADE AMID PROTESTS IN LONDON… President Trump called the U.S.’ relationship with the UK the “greatest alliance the world has ever known” yesterday during a press conference in London with UK Prime Minister Theresa May and promised a “phenomenal” trade deal after the UK leaves the European Union. Trump also met Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage at the U.S. ambassador’s residences. Meanwhile, anti-Trump demonstrations filled London’s Parliament Square and the president was snubbed by British opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn, Prince William and Prince Harry, along with Boris Johnson, who is the frontrunner to become Britain’s next prime minister.

HOUSE PASSES DACA BILL… The House last night passed the Dream and Promise Act to expand protections for DACA recipients and other immigrants looking for legal status, including permanent citizenship. The vote was 237-187, with seven Republicans crossing the aisle and joining the unanimous vote by Democrats. Despite the 50-vote margin, the legislation isn’t likely to be brought up for a vote in the Republican-led Senate.

HOPE HICKS AGREES TO TURN OVER DOCUMENTS… Former White House communications director Hope Hicks has reportedly agreed to turn over documents requested by the House Judiciary Committee as part of its investigation into whether President Trump and his administration have undermined the rule of law. AMI, the parent company of The National Enquirer, has also agreed to turn over to the committee documents related to a “catch and kill” scheme involving the pay-off of women who said they had affairs with Trump. Hicks’ agreement to provide the documents came after the Trump administration directed her and Annie Donaldson, former chief of staff to ex-White House Counsel Don McGahn, not to.

TREASURY DEPARTMENT LIMITS CUBA TRAVEL… Americans are facing tightening travel restrictions to Cuba. The Treasury Department announced yesterday that it is limiting some group travel to the island nation along with travel by private vessels like cruise ships. An educational travel program known as people-to-people has been discontinued as part of the new policy. Groups that have made at least some reservations prior to the announcement will be allowed to proceed with their planned travel.

MANAFORT MOVING TO RIKERS… President Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort is being moved from federal prison to New York City’s Rikers Island jail complex following new state charges against him. Manafort, who was sentenced this year to four years in prison for tax evasion, bank fraud and campaign finance violations. Manafort is expected to be arraigned on the new charges in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan later this month. A 16-count indictment accuses him of falsifying business records to obtain millions of dollars in loans.

VIRGINIA GOVERNOR MOVES SEEKS GUN RESTRICTIONS… Virginia’s Democratic governor Ralph Northam is calling for a special legislative session to consider new gun control laws following Friday’s fatal shootings of 12 people in Virginia Beach. Northam has been unsuccessful in previous efforts to increase restrictions on guns. “I will be asking for votes and laws, not thoughts and prayers,” he said.

MADONNA ITEMS HEADING TO AUCTION BLOCK… The New York state appeals court in Manhattan yesterday sided against singer Madonna in her bid to save a trove of intimate belongings from the auction block. The items include a pair of satin panties, a brush containing her hair and a breakup letter from a former boyfriend, the late rapper Tupac Shakur. The court ruled that a 2004 settlement agreement with Madonna struck with former friend and art consultant, Darlene Lutz, allows here “to do with the property as she wished” as its rightful owner.

MEEK MILL GETS GRANTED HEARING… Rapper Meek Mill has been granted a hearing in front of the Pennsylvania Superior Court next month. The announcement comes two weeks after the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office filed an appeal asking for a new trial with a new judge. Mill’s legal challenge centers on a former Philadelphia police officer who testified against Mill after the rapper was arrested on gun and drug charges in 2007. The officer’s credibility has since been called into question and several other cases involving the officer have already been overturned.

Atlanta 12 – PITTSBURGH 5… The Braves overcame a 5-2 sixth-inning deficit to pound the Pirates. Austin Riley and Josh Donaldson belted three-run homers. Freddie Freeman added a two-run shot.

San Francisco 9 – N.Y. METS 3 (10 innings)… Stephen Vogt and Pablo Sandoval stroked two-run doubles during a six-run top of the 10th inning that carried the Giants past the Mets. Steven Duggar had a couple of hits and knocked in two runs.

Miami 16 – MILWAUKEE 0… The Marlins pounded out 19 hits in their thrashing of the Brewers. They put the game away with an 11-run top of the fifth inning. Starlin Castro got things going with a two-run homer in the first. Garret Cooper and Brian Anderson hit bases-empty homers in the second.

CHI. CUBS 6 – Colorado 3… Javier Baez connected for a two-run homer and Kyle Schwarber hit a solo shot for the Cubs. Kyle Hendricks (6-4) allowed three runs on six hits over seven innings and struck out 10. He helped himself at the plate with a run-scoring single.

Cincinnati 4 – ST. LOUIS 1… Luis Castillo (6-1) limited the Cardinals to a run on two hits over six innings. Yasiel Puig smacked a solo homer for the Reds.

L.A. Dodgers 9 – ARIZONA 0… Hyun-Jin Ryu (9-1) pitched three-hit ball over seven innings and got plenty of support as the Dodgers romped over the Diamondbacks. Enrique Hernandez homered. Corey Seager and David Freese each had two hits and two RBIs.

Philadelphia 9 – SAN DIEGO 6… Newly-acquired Jay Bruce hit a two-run homer and unloaded a grand slam for the Phillies. Scott Kingery doubled home a run and homered. Maikel Franco also went deep.

TORONTO 4 – N.Y. Yankees 3… Randal Grichuk and Freddy Galvis homered as the Blue Jays scored all four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and held on to edge the Yankees.

CLEVELAND 5 – Minnesota 2… Francisco Lindor went 3-for-3 with a pair of homers and three RBIs in leading the Indians past the Twins. Shane Bieber (5-2) gave up two runs on five hits over seven innings.

DETROIT 9 – Tampa Bay 6… Miguel Cabrera opened the scoring with an RBI double in the bottom of the first inning and unloaded a grand slam to cap a five-run fifth. Dawel Lugo legged out a two-run triple for the Tigers.

Boston 8 – KANSAS CITY 3… Eduardo Nunez belted a three-run homer for the Red Sox. Eduardo Rodriguez (6-3) held the Royals to two runs on six hits over 5-2/3 innings.

Baltimore 12 – TEXAS 11… The Orioles built a 9-2 lead and hung on to top the Rangers. Dwight Smith Jr. connected for a three-run homer and lined a bases-clearing double. Pedro Severino homered twice and drove in three runs. Keon Braxton also went deep.

Oakland 4 – L.A. ANGELS 2… Ramon Laureano’s two-run homer in the top of the sixth inning proved to be the difference in the Athletics’ win over the Angels. Frankie Montas (7-2) surrendered two runs on four hits over six innings.

Houston 11 – SEATTLE 5… Tony Kemp and Robinson Chirinos drilled solo homers for the Astros. Alex Bregman had a couple of hits and knocked in three runs.

WASHINGTON 9 – Chi. White Sox 5… The Nationals rolled past the White Sox after spotting them a five-run lead. Anthony Rendon lined a two-run double and connected for a three-run homer. Howie Kendrick homered and doubled home a run. Victor Robles also went deep.
