HOUSE PANEL TO ISSUE SUBPOENAS… The House Judiciary Committee has authorized new subpoenas to 12 current and former Trump administration officials who were central figures in former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian contacts with the Trump campaign. Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner, former Attorney General Jeff Sessions, former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and former White House Staff Secretary Rob Porter are among those targeted in the subpoenas. TRUMP TO ISSUE ORDER REGARDING CENSUS QUESTION… President Trump announced yesterday that he is dropping his efforts to put a citizenship question on the 2020 Census and vowed to issue an executive order requiring federal agencies to give data on non-citizens to the Department of Commerce. Trump said the move will eliminate “long-standing obstacles to data-sharing” and provide for a more accurate representation of the undocumented population. Last week, the Trump administration told a federal judge that it decided not to ask about citizenship in the 2020 Census, but Trump declared the next day that his administration was “absolutely moving forward” with the question.

IMMIGRANT RAIDS PLANNED FOR THE WEEKEND… The Trump plan is expected to round up and deport thousands of undocumented immigrants this weekend. Agents question whether the raids will be effective since they have been heavily publicized and immigrants probably won’t open their doors.
