UKRAINE AID DETAILED IN WHITE HOUSE EMAILS… New documents released over the weekend indicate that the White House made an effort to withhold Ukraine defense aid less than two hours after President Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The funds are at the center of Trump’s impeachment, as Trump is accused of using them to pressure Ukraine into investigating his political rival Joe Biden. Redacted conversations between the White House Office of Management and Budget and the Pentagon comprised 146 pages of emails the Center for Public Integrity received through a Freedom of Information Act request and court order. The conversations included Trump political appointee Mike Duffey’s request that the funds be withheld.

PILEUP ON INTERSTATE INJURES DOZENS IN VIRGINIA… Dozens of people suffered injuries ranging from minor to critical in a 69-car pileup in Virginia yesterday morning. The pileup occurred on Interstate 64 in York County near Williamsburg and shut down traffic for hours in both directions. Virginia State Police had issued a warning for fog and ice along a bridge prior to the crash.

TWO IN CUSTODY AFTER CHICAGO SHOOTINGS THAT INJURED 13… Chicago police have taken two people into custody following a shootout that injured 13 people early yesterday at a memorial service on Chicago’s south side. Authorities say the gunfire broke out after a scuffle that began in a home spilled out into the street. The injured range in age between 16 and 48. The memorial service was for a person who was fatally shot in Chicago last April.

SPACE STATION-BOUND CRAFT ABORTS MISSION… The unmanned Boeing Starliner spacecraft successfully landed in New Mexico yesterday morning after a failed mission to the International Space Station. The spacecraft launched from Cape Canaveral on Friday and was slated to stay at the space station until December 28. An “automation” error was blamed for the Starliner’s inability to reach its correct orbit.

GAS PRICES DROP 4 CENTS… The average for a gallon of regular-grade gasoline dropped 4 cents per gallon to $2.61 over the past two weeks, according to a nationwide survey of gas stations released yesterday. Prices are 18 cents higher than they were a year ago, the Lundberg Survey noted. San Diego had the most expensive gas at $3.62 per gallon. The cheapest gas was in Houston, where it cost $2.14 a gallon.

HARRY STYLES TOPS ALBUM CHART… Harry Stiles’ new release, “Fine Line,” sold 478,000 copies to top the Billboard 200 album chart. Blake Shelton’s “Fully Loaded: God’s Country” sold 96,000 units to finish in second place. Roddy Ricch’s “Please Excuse Me for Being Anti-Social” fell from first to third place after selling 81,000 copies. Post Malone’s “Hollywood Bleeding” remained in fourth place on sales of 63,000 units. The “Froze II” soundtrack capped the top five with 60,000 units sold.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE… “Star Wars: Episode IX – the Rise of Skywalker” raked in $175.5 million to blow away the weekend box office. Last week’s champ, “Jumanji: The Next Level,” slipped into second place with $26.1 million. “Frozen II” dropped to third place after bringing in $12.3 million. “Cats” opened in fourth place with $6.5 million. “Knives Out” finished fifth with $6.1 million.

ATLANTA 24 – Jacksonville 12… Devonta Freeman ran 17 yards for a touchdown and caught an 8-yard scoring toss from Matt Ryan before the Jaguars (5-10) took a snap and the Falcons (6-9) went on to complete the victory. Ryan finished with 384 passing yards. Julio Jones had 10 catches for 166 yards.

Baltimore 31 – CLEVELAND 15… Lamar Jackson had three touchdown passes as the Ravens (13-2) topped the Browns and clinched the AFC’s top seed with their 11th straight win. Jackson also rushed for 103 yards.

New Orleans 38 – TENNESSEE 28… The Saints (12-3) erased an early two-touchdown deficit to down the Titans (8-7). Drew Brees threw for three touchdowns and Alvin Kamara ran for two more.

INDIANAPOLIS 38 – Carolina 6… Nyheim Hines became the first NFL player in seven years to score on two punt returns in the same game and the Colts (7-8) crushed the Panthers (5-10).

MIAMI 38 – Cincinnati 35 (OT)… The Dolphins (4-11) recovered to outlast the Bengals (1-14) after blowing a 23-point fourth-quarter lead. Jason Sanders booted the game-winning 37-yard field goal in overtime. Ryan Fitzpatrick passed for 419 yards and four touchdowns.

N.Y. JETS 16 – Pittsburgh 10… Sam Ficken booted 37- and 46-yard field goals in the second half to send the Jets (6-9) past the Steelers (8-7).

N.Y. Giants 41 – WASHINGTON 35 (OT)… Daniel Jones threw for 352 yards and five touchdowns as the Giants (4-11) fought off the Redskins (3-12). Saquon Barkley rushed for 189 yards and a touchdown. He also had a TD reception.

DENVER 27 – Detroit 17… Drew Lock found DaeSean Hamilton with a go-ahead 3-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter and Phillip Lindsay ran 27 yards for a score as the Broncos (6-9) rallied past the Lions (3-11-1).

Oakland 24 – L.A. CHARGERS 17… The Raiders (7-8) kept their playoff hopes alive by downing the Chargers (5-10). Derek Carr passed for 291 yards and a touchdown. Hunter Renfrow had seven catches for 107 yards and a score.

PHILADELPHIA 17 – Dallas 9… The Eagles (8-7) held off the Cowboys (7-8) to move within a season-ending win of capturing the NFC East crown. Carson Wentz threw for 319 yards and a touchdown.

Arizona 27 – SEATTLE 13… Kenyan Drake ran for 166 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Cardinals (5-9-1) past the short-handed Seahawks (11-4). The loss dealt a blow to Seattle’s hopes of becoming the top seed in the NFC playoffs.

Kansas City 26 – CHICAGO 3… Patrick Mahomes threw for two touchdowns and ran for another to lead the Chiefs (11-4) in their romp over the Bears (7-8). The victory was Kansas City’s fifth in a row.

BOSTON 119 – Charlotte 93… Jayson Tatum pumped in a career-high 39 points and brought down 12 rebounds in leading the Celtics past the Hornets. Kemba Walker added 23 points against his former team.

MILWAUKEE 117 – Indiana 89… The Bucks shook off a slow start to cruise past the Pacers. Giannis Antetokounmpo led a balanced scoring attack with 18 points and gathered 19 boards.

OKLAHOMA CITY 118 – L.A. Clippers 112… The Thunder rallied in the second half to upend the Clippers. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 32 points to lead all scorers. Steven Adams finished with 20 points and 17 boards.

TORONTO 110 – Dallas 107… The Raptors overcame a 30-point deficit to stun the Mavericks. Kyle Lowry scored a game-high 32 points and dished off 10 assists. Chris Boucher added a career-high 21 points.

Denver 128 – L.A. LAKERS 104… Six players scored in double figures as the Nuggets rolled past the Lakers. Paul Millsap led the way with 21 points. Will Barton pulled down 13 rebounds to go with his 14 points.

N.Y. RANGERS 5 – Anaheim 1… Chris Kreider scored a pair of goals in leading the Rangers past the Ducks. Mika Zibanejad added a goal and an assist.

Vegas 3 – SAN JOSE 1… Shea Theodore netted a tie-breaking goal at 8:05 of the third period and the Golden Knights got an insurance goal from Jonathan Marchessault to put away the Sharks. William Karlsson assisted on two goals.
