LEV PARNAS HAS TO PART WITH ATTORNEY… One of two indicted associates of President Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani says he must part with one of his two attorneys due to payment issues. Attorney for Lev Parnas has made the request in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Parnas and his business partner Igor Furman were arrested October 9 and charged with conspiracy to commit campaign finance fraud, making false statements to the Federal Election Commission and falsifying records as part of a supposed scheme to “funnel foreign money to U.S. candidates.”

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA PACKAGE THIEVES NABBED… Police in Northern California have arrested two people who allegedly stole more than 100 packages and envelopes from residents’ mailboxes in days before Christmas. According to the Butte County Sheriff’s Office, a 41-year-old man and 26-year-old woman are facing charges of reckless evading, identity theft, mail theft and violation of probation. The two were taken into custody following a short pursuit. Sheriffs recovered 108 pieces of mail addressed to approximately 56 people at 37 different addresses in the towns of Durham and Chico.

HOLIDAY SPENDING RISES… Spending was up this holiday season with e-commerce sales hitting a record high, according to a report by Mastercard. Despite a later Thanksgiving this year, E-commerce sales were up 18.8 percent between November 1 and Christmas Eve, data revealed. Overall holiday retail sales, excluding autos, rose 3.4 percent.

MINNEAPOLIS APARTMENT BUILDING BLAZE LEAVES 250 HOMELESS… About 250 people were left homeless early yesterday after a fire swept through a hotel apartment building that provides transitional housing for the poor in downtown Minneapolis. City officials say there were no deaths or serious injuries reported in the four-alarm blaze. Investigators say the fire erupted before dawn on the second floor of the three-story Francis Drake Hotel before spreading to the third floor and attic area of the brick building.

THREE DEAD IN APPARENT MURDER-SUICIDE IN FLORIDA… Police in Lakeland, Florida, say three adults were killed in an apparent murder-suicide on Christmas Eve. Authorities safely removed four young children who were inside the home at the time of the slayings. According to investigators, the three dead adults all suffered gunshot wounds.

SONGWRITER ALLEE WILLIS DIES… Songwriter Allee Willis, who was best known for writing the “Friends” theme song and her work with Earth, Wind & Fire, died of a heart attack on Christmas Eve, authorities confirmed yesterday. Willis was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame in 2018. In 2006, seven of her hits were featured in the Earth, Wind & Fire-themed musical “Hot Feet.” She earned a Grammy in 1985 for writing the soundtrack to the Eddie Murphy comedy film “Beverly Hills Cop.”

PRODUCER DAVID FOSTER DIES… Movie producer David Foster, whose credits included “The Getaway,” “McCabe and Mrs. Miller” and 1982’s “The Thing,” died earlier this week in Los Angeles. He was 90. Foster’s entertainment career spanned six decades and included more than 30 films. Before he became a producer, Foster was a publicist who represented such talent as Steve McQueen, Peter Sellers, Richard Attenborough, Shirley MacLaine, Andy Williams, James Coburn and Sonny & Cher.

PHILADELPHIA 121 – Milwaukee 109… Joel Embiid scored 31 points and brought down 11 rebounds in the 76ers’ defeat of the Bucks. Tobias Harris added 22 points.

GOLDEN STATE 116 – Houston 104… Damion Lee scored 22 points and gathered a career-high 15 boards in leading the Warriors past the Rockets. Draymond Green scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half.

L.A. Clippers 111 – L.A. LAKERS 106… The Clippers erased a double-digit halftime deficit on their way past the Lakers. Kawhi Leonard had game-highs with 35 points and 12 rebounds.

New Orleans 112 – DENVER 100… The Pelicans came up big in the fourth quarter to put away the Nuggets. Brandon Ingram made seven of nine 3-point attempts on his way to 31 points. Jrue Holiday added 20 points.
