CORONAVIRUS UPDATE… The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the U.S. has reached 4,771,087 and the nation’s death toll stands at 156,806, according to figures released last night by Johns Hopkins University… Governors from seven states have formed an interstate compact to expand COVID-19 testing. The effort would fund the purchase of more than three million rapid point-of-care antigen tests for the coronavirus. Maryland, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Ohio, Virginia and North Carolina are the states that have signed on.

PRIMARIES IN FIVE STATES… Five states held primary elections yesterday, with some high profile members of Congress vying against party challengers from within their parties. The upset of the day so far was 20-year U.S. congressman William Lacy Clay’s Missouri Democratic primary loss to Cori Bush, a nurse and Black Lives Matter Activist. Clay had represented his district since 2001. In a closely-watched contest in Kansas, U.S. Congressman Roger Marshall defeated Trump ally Kris Kobach in the Republican Senate primary and will face Democratic state Senator Barbara Bollier in the general election. Also in Kansas, first-term U.S. Congressman Steve Watkins was unseated by State Treasurer Jake Laturner in the Republican primary. Rashida Tlaib withstood challenger Brenda Jones in Michigan’s District 13 Democratic primary. There were also key races in Arizona and Washington state.

DHS PLANS UNIFORM REPLACEMENT… Acting Department of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli revealed in congressional testimony released yesterday that DHS is planning to replace the military-style camouflage uniforms worn by federal law enforcement officers in recent domestic crackdowns on protests. U.S. District Judge William Alsup in San Francisco called Levandowski’s crime the “biggest trade secret crime I have ever seen.” Levandowski went on to lead Uber’s robocar project but was fired in 2017 over the trade secret-theft allegations.

ISAIAS BLAMED FOR AT LEAST 6 DEATHS… Tropical Storm Isaias was blamed for the deaths of at least six people yesterday as it spawned tornadoes and dumped rain along the East Coast on its way into Canada. ENTERTAINMENT
NEIL YOUNG SUES TRUMP CAMPAIGN
… Neil Young has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against President Trump’s reelection campaign, alleging it used the musician’s songs at rallies without permission. The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, alleges Trump’s campaign has been using Young’s songs “Rockin in the Free World” and “Devil’s Sidewalk” at campaign events. The suit wants Trump barred from using the Young’s songs at future events and seeks statutory damages.

‘WHO’S THE BOSS?’ REBOOT IN PRODUCTION… Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano have signed on to reprise their roles as father-and-daughter duo Tony and Samantha Micelli in a “Who’s the Boss?” sequel series currently in development. Sony Pictures Television announced yesterday that the modern-day sequel will take place in the same home where the original sitcom was set during its 1984 to 1992 run, but the update centers on the pair’s relationship 30 years later, when Samantha is a single mother. It’s not known whether original show stars Judith Light and Danny Pintauro will appear in the reboot.
